Baguette Bakery & Cafe

By Brandon

Ah Baguette, I started going there the same time I started going to UCR. Ty Te, the owner of this establishment is an incredibly nice guy first off, and knows how to make delicious sandwiches. I’ve had most of the sandwiches on their menu and all have been delicious. Their smoothies are delicious as well and that smoothie list includes my first avocado smoothie. I was rather skeptical at first about this avocado smoothie so I made Christine get it so I could try it. Of course it was delicious and I was a fool to question it. I’ve taken a lot of friends here in the last 2 years, even my mom and everyone has loved it. Their sandwiches are great takeout as well, and I’ve taken far more of them to home school or the office than I’ve ever eaten there. They weren’t putting tomatoes on their sandwiches during my visit since I guess there’s some sort of salmonella risk, and that kind of bummed me out, but the sandwiches were still delicious.

I actually got 2 different half sandwiches: a steak portabella and Cajun shrimp. I added avocado to both for a nominal fee, but I regret my choice of bread. The sandwiches were both delicious, but not getting a baguette from Baguette is bad form. I guess I’m just guilty of liking Ciabatta too much.

the shrimp kind of fell back when I lifted the sandwich up for the picture, but I can assure you that there was plenty, and it went quite well with the avocado

here is a glimpse of the steak portabella, the cheese they use(95% sure its provolone) is mild enough to perfectly bring together their mild spread with the beef and mushrooms. It helped me to realize that in my sandwiches not EVERY ingredient needs to be packed with flavor.
