This saturday I wanted to bbq a little before my grad party, I always make do carne asada so boredom led to me doing something different.
I poured all the rice vinegar into a small pot and added a little over 1lb of sugar to it. I reduced them for a long time into this weird kinda sweet almost good tasting vinegar syrup.
I added a ton of sriracha because i wanted it to be hotter so the amount you use is up to you. After adding the sriracha i reduced it for a while longer and added the sweet and sour. Any sweet and sour type product is good. I used this entire bottle, but my friend that told me how to make this uses mai ploy sauce.
After reducing the mai ploy into it again it had perfect syrup consistency, and this is where I used it for the skewers.

the skewers themselves were pretty basic: chicken, mushroom, pineapple, and maui onions. I had no idea the mushrooms would be so hard to put on, but when it comes to stuff like this im Vivians bitch and she wanted mushrooms. I was worried the ingredients wouldn’t taste well together but the sweetness from the sauce really came through with the mushrooms and onions.
they turned out delicious as did the onion burgers Vivian also helped out by bbqing.
later in the night someone bought flank stank and glazed it with the same sauce and it turned out equally delicious.
